Helping practices and people get the complicated parts in a row

I work with holistic practices that need support with the administrative and insurance side of their business, as well as individuals who want help understanding and navigating their health insurance. My services make those responsibilities feel more manageable, whether that means taking something off your plate, working through a question, or helping you understand what to do next.

When we work together, you’ll have my focused attention and hands-on support from start to finish. I take the time to understand what you need, explain things in a way that makes sense, and keep communication clear along the way. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident knowing you have someone there to help you get things handled and keep moving forward.

PRACTICE SUPPORT + HEALTHCARE NAVIGATION CONSULTANT

I’ve spent the last several years working in healthcare, with experience in patient coordination, surgery scheduling, insurance, and clinic operations. Over time, what started as a career grew into a genuine interest in understanding all the pieces that surround someone’s care, especially the ones that aren’t always explained but can have such a big impact on their experience. Some of that interest came from my own experience. When I found myself dealing with serious medical care while also trying to understand everything that came with it. Deductibles, Explanation of Benefits, in-network and out-of-network care, hospital stays, procedures, and what insurance would actually cover were all things I was suddenly trying to make sense of at a time when all I really wanted to do was think about healing.

I didn’t know then that I would eventually build a career in healthcare, but looking back, I can see how much that experience stayed with me. As the things that once felt so unfamiliar became part of my everyday work, I never really forgot what it felt like to be on the other side of it. Throughout the different roles I’ve had, I’ve always kept in mind the kind of support I could have used myself, and I’ve tried to bring that with me in the way I help others. My perspective continued to grow from there. After spending much of my career in traditional medical settings, I was introduced to holistic care, and it opened up a different way of thinking about health and the people receiving care. At the same time, I continued my education in billing and coding, human diseases, and patient communication, which helped me better understand not only how healthcare works, but how many different pieces come together around the person receiving it.

Working more closely with holistic practices also showed me another side of the system. Acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and other holistic approaches don’t always fit neatly into the way health insurance is structured or understood. Coverage can be limited, requirements can change, and practitioners are often left managing an administrative and insurance side of their practice that takes time and attention away from caring for their patients.

That’s when the direction I wanted to take became clearer. I wanted to use what I had learned to support both the people trying to understand their healthcare and the holistic practitioners trying to provide it. For individuals, that can mean making insurance easier to understand and helping them feel more prepared for what comes next. For practitioners, it can mean having someone who understands the administrative and insurance side of running a practice and can help make those responsibilities more manageable. I know I’m not going to change our healthcare system on my own, but I can make an impact with the people I come across. If I can help someone understand something that once felt confusing, take something off a practitioner’s plate, or make one part of the process feel a little less overwhelming, that matters to me.

    A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

Outside of healthcare, I love the simple things that make life feel full. Spending time with my partner and our two pups, getting together with friends, having a really good meal, or finding an excuse to get out of town for a bit. I love baking, plants, hiking, camping, and a good road trip, especially when it takes me somewhere with cooler weather and plenty of greenery. Oregon and Washington are places I’m always happy to return to, though I’m just as happy coming home afterward and settling back into my little corner of the world.
